Make the words useful to everyday use. I don't want to know something from a million years ago. Relate it to daily activities, the day of the week, the weather, holidays or things that we could use it with. I try to use the 'word of the day' in my day, but rarely find a situation where I can relate it.

  • WORD OF THE DAY Hebrews 4:12 - For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 12/28/20 - Psalm 46:1-God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
  • The Word of the Day is a recurring Sesame Street feature that debuted in season 38 and lasted through season 45. The segment highlights a particular word introduced before the show with What's the Word on the Street? The standard format for every segment was established by season 39, in that Muppet characters (usually Elmo) would accompany celebrities in explaining or demonstrating the word.

Today’s word of the day Bible study is from John 4 – The story of the Samaritan Woman and the water that never runs dry!

Within John chapter 4 there is the story of the Samaritan woman, yet the story seems to be pointing to a larger topic of Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (Verse 13)

Later on in this chapter which we picked for this word of the day Bible study, Jesus is talking to the disciples and they become concerned about whether He has had anything to eat, to which He replied, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.” (Verse 32)

The

The disciples were confused by this statement, so Jesus clarified, “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of Him who sent me and to finish His work.” (Verse 34)

What can we learn from this Word Of The Day Bible Study

What is the common thread throughout this entire chapter?

Word Of The Day

What we eat and what we drink will either fill us temporarily or it will fill us permanently.

So what is the “water” and the “food” Jesus is talking about here and how can we, too, fill ourselves in a way that we will never hunger again? That is the crux of this word of the day Bible study.

The water and the food shared the same element of filling Him without any physical food or drink. The consumption here has nothing to do with a physical act, but doing “the will of Him who sent me and to finish His work”. There is something about serving the Father that fills us more than food or water ever could.

Every physical and emotional need is a reflection of life in the Spirit and the satisfaction that only comes from God. Even having physical hunger or thirst is a representation of the constant need to be filled with nourishment.

Word Of The Day For Kids

According to Jesus here in John 4, doing the will of God is the most nourishing thing we can ever participate in. Now that’s a powerful revelation of God’s word of the day Bible study

Another note to make is that Jesus makes a parallel between the water baptism (baptism of John) and being baptized in the Holy Spirit. Then John gave this testimony: “I saw the Spirit come down from Heaven as a dove and remain on Him.And I myself did not know Him, but the One who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the One who will baptize with the Holy Spirit. John 1:32-33

When you are baptized in the Holy Spirit you are being filled with the Spirit of God and He becomes alive in you, “All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.” (Acts 2:4)

The Spirit of God is living and active, just like the “water” and “food” that never runs out.

If you want to never hunger again, be filled with the Holy Spirit and begin to do your Father’s work – the Holy Spirit has everything you need. Everything you are hungry for – comfort, help, unending joy, peace, righteousness, and LOVE!

Origin

Wriggle dates back to the late 15th century. The late Middle English verb wrigglen was borrowed from the Middle Low German wriggelen or wrigglen, a frequentative form of wriggen, which meant ‘to twist or turn.’ It can be traced back to the Proto-Germanic root wrig-, from wreik– (to turn), and the Proto-Indo-European root wer– (to turn or bend). It is related to the Dutch wriggelen (wriggle) and the Old English wrigian (to turn, incline or go forward), as well as many modern English words, including adverse, controversy, convert, diverse, inward, pervert, prose, universe, verge, verse, versus, warp, worm, worry, worth, wrap, wrench, wrinkle, wrist and wry.
